Wizardry #1 Job Class  

Fighter

Strength 11

Role:
Performs a close-combat attack with a handheld weapon once per turn to defeat the enemy.
Resists the enemy’s close-combat attacks.
(Of the six-person party, the first three are called the vanguard and receive the enemy’s close-combat attacks.)
Uses swords, plate mail, shields, gauntlets, and helms.
Has the highest HP of all job classes. There are no equipment restrictions other than alignment.
There are no alignment restrictions when creating a fighter, and any attribute can be created or changed jobs.
Levels up quickly. (Level 45 with XP9,999,999)
Up until Ver1.0, the maximum was level 80 (Xp:19,826,855), and HP was in the low 700s.
From level 13, it takes 289,709 XP to level up by one.
Maximum Ac is -8 for Good and Neautral attributes, and -11 for Evil attributes.
Maximum damage is 124-160 with 10 attacks. (When using E-Sword+3) You can kill Werdna in one hit.
Priest

Piety 11

Role:
Recovers damage and abnormal conditions when attacked by enemies.
Divine spell user. Can learn all divine spells at level 13,
MP count stops at level 21.
Not as high as fighters, but some people use them as front liners because their HP is high.
Uses maces, breastplates, and shields.
Cannot use swords or gauntlets, so is inferior to fighters in both offense and defense, but can have high attack and defense.
Levels up quickly. (Level 44 with XP9,999,999)
If alignment is Neutral, class selection/class change is not possible.
Has dispel ability to destroy undead. Up until Ver1.0, the maximum level was 77 (Xp:20,000,000), and HP was in the early 600s.
From level 13, it takes 304,132 XP to level up one level.
 

Thief

Agility 11

Role:
Responsible for disarming traps that appear in treasure chests when enemies are defeated. (Trap identification 80%/disarm rate 95%)
Some people seem to make them front liners.
Lower HP than Priest.
Uses short sword, leather armor, and shield.
Fastest leveling out of all classes. (XP9,999,999 at level 48)
If alignment is Good, class selection/class change is not possible.
Can hide and launch surprise attacks when in the rear line.
There is an item that changes the class of thief to ninja. (Can also be used by Neutral)
Up until Ver1.0, the maximum level was 88 (Xp:20,000,000), and HP was in the late 500s.
From level 13, it takes 260,639 XP to level up one level.
Mage

Intellect 11

Role:
Puts enemies to sleep, and uses magic to attack areas.
Has lower HP than a thief. (Lowest HP of all classes.)
Uses a staff and robe. (They often don’t seem to be carrying anything.)
Levels up quickly. (XP9,999,999 – level 43)
Arcane spell user. Can learn all arcane spells at level 13, MP count stops at level 21.
There are no alignment restrictions when creating a mage, and any attribute can be created or changed to another job.
Up until Ver1.0, the maximum level was 74 (Xp:20,000,000), and HP was in the early 400s.
From level 13, it takes 318,529 XP to level up by one.
Samurai

Strength 15
Intellect 11
Piety 10
Vitality 14
Agility 10

Role:
Can cast mage spells and can use the same equipment and roles as a fighter.
HP is higher, but not as high as a fighter. (Higher than a fighter at first.)
There are no equipment restrictions other than alignment.
Can equip the strongest weapon, Muramasa Blade.
Arcane spell user. Can learn all spells at level 22,
MP count stops at level 30.
Leveling up is slow. (XP9,999,999 at level 33)
If the alignment is evil, class selection/class change is not possible.
Can be created from scratch in the training ground.
Due to alignment, AC-8 is the minimum even for the strongest armor.
Up to Ver1.0, the maximum was level 55 (Xp:19,951,881), and HP was in the early 400s.
From level 13, 456,601 XP will increase one level.
Maximum AC is -8.
Maximum damage is 150-350 with 10 attacks. (When using Muramasa Blade) It can kill any enemy in one hit, but will cause excessive damage.

Role
: Can cast Priest spells and can use the same equipment and role as a fighter.
Not as much as a fighter, but has higher HP. Higher than a samurai.
No equipment restrictions other than alignment. Can
equip the strongest armor, Lord’s Garb.
User of divine spells. Can learn all spells at level 16, MP count stops at level 24.
Leveling up is slow. (XP9,999,999 at level 32)
If alignment is Neutral or Evil, class selection/class change is not possible.
Has dispel ability to destroy undead.
Up until Ver1.0, the maximum level was 53 (Xp:19,671,269), and HP was in the late 400s.
From level 13, it takes 475,008 XP to level up by one.
Maximum Ac is -11.
Maximum damage is 140-150 with 10 attacks. (When using Vorpal Blade)
Even with 8 attacks (114-120 damage), the attack power is enough to kill Werdna in one hit.
Ninja

Strength 17
Intellect 17
Piety 17
Vitality 17
Agility 17
Luck 17

Role:
Disarms traps from treasure chests that appear when enemies are defeated, and can use the same equipment and roles as a fighter.
(70% trap identification/95% disarm rate)
HP is about the same as a thief.
Can equip the powerful weapon Shuriken.
Levels up the slowest of all classes. (XP9,999,999 at level 30)
If alignment is Neutral or Good, class selection/class change is not possible.
Can use instant kill. AC-1 for every 3 levels. (However, when nothing is equipped. AC-8 at level 49.)
Can hide and launch surprise attacks when in the rear guard.
Maximum Ac when equipped with armor is -8 for Neutral attributes, -11 for Evil attributes.
Up until Ver1.0, the maximum was level 49 (Xp:20,000,000), and HP was in the early 300s.
From level 13, it takes 529,757 XP to level up by one.
Maximum damage is 150-170 for 10 attacks. (When using Shuriken) Can defeat Werdna and Vampire Lord in one hit.
Bishop

Intellect 12
Piety 12

Role
: A job class that can cast both Priest and Mage spells.
Has the ability to identify items.
HP is about the same as a thief.
If the alignment is Neutral, class selection/class change is not possible.
Leveling up is slow. (XP9,999,999 at level 34)
Arcane spell user. Can learn all spells at level 25,
MP count stops at level 33.
Divine spell user. Can learn all spells at level 28,
MP count stops at level 36.
Uses a mace, leather armor, and small shield.
Up until Ver1.0, the level cap was 57 (Xp:20,000,000), and HP was in the upper 300s.
After level 13, it takes 438,479 XP to level up by one.

In version 1.1, the experience point cap is now 99,000,000 XP. For Fighter, the level cap is roughly 270.
